Woraus gear besteht
A toothed wheel that transmits rotation and changes speed and torque.
- Torque — nutzt. The gear ratio changes torque and speed.
- Bronze — ist hergestellt aus. Ancient gears were bronze.
- Wood — ist hergestellt aus. In mills — wooden ones.
- Gusseisen — ist hergestellt aus. Large gears of machines and mills were cast in iron: it fills a mould well and wears slowly.
- Plastic — ist hergestellt aus. Small gears in toys, clocks and printers are plastic: light and quiet.
