A lamp with a wick in oil.
- Wick — has part. The wick feeds oil to the flame.
- Combustion — uses. Burning oil gives the light.
- Tallow — uses. The fuel was animal fat, later oil.
- Stone — is made of. The first lamps were stone bowls (Lascaux).
- Clay — is made of. Later — clay ones.
