A lamp with a wick in oil.
- Wick — a pour partie. The wick feeds oil to the flame.
- Combustion — utilise. Burning oil gives the light.
- Tallow — utilise. The fuel was animal fat, later oil.
- Stone — est fait de. The first lamps were stone bowls (Lascaux).
- Argile — est fait de. Later — clay ones.
