What Saturn V is made of

The super-heavy rocket of the Apollo programme.

• Rocket stage — has part. Three stages: S-IC, S-II, S-IVB.
• F-1 rocket engine — has part. Five kerosene–oxygen engines on the first stage.
• J-2 rocket engine — has part. Hydrogen engines on the upper stages.
• Launch escape tower — has part. A tower that pulls the spacecraft away in an emergency.
• Hydrogen — uses. Hydrogen stages.
• Lunar module — uses. It launched the lunar module.
• Liquid-propellant rocket engine — uses. All stages use liquid-propellant engines.
