A fastener of hooks and loops, copied from burdock (de Mestral).
- Hook tape — has part. Stiff hooks.
- Loop tape — has part. Soft loops.
- Biomimetics — uses. The idea was borrowed from burdock burrs — an example of biomimetics (the term appeared later than the fastener).
- Nylon — is made of. Nylon hooks and loops.
