A turbine driven by flowing water (Fourneyron, Francis, Kaplan).
- Turbine runner — a pour partie. Blades turned by the flow.
- Turbine guide vanes — a pour partie. Adjustable guide vanes admit the water.
- Spiral turbine casing — a pour partie. It distributes water evenly around the circle.
- Draft tube — a pour partie. It carries away water and recovers some of the energy.
- Gravity flow — utilise. It is turned by falling water.
- Fonte — est fait de. Fourneyron’s turbine is cast iron.
