Woraus Wright Flyer besteht
The first controlled powered aeroplane flight.
- Roller chain — hat als Teil. The propellers were driven from the engine by bicycle chains — the Wrights were bicycle makers.
- Wing warping — nutzt. Roll was controlled by wing warping.
- Wind tunnel — nutzt. The Wrights built their own wind tunnel.
- Railway track — nutzt. The Flyer had no wheels: it took off along a wooden rail.
- Wood — ist hergestellt aus. The frame is spruce and ash.
- Baumwolle — ist hergestellt aus. The covering is muslin.
- Aluminium — ist hergestellt aus. The engine crankcase is cast aluminium.
- Steel — ist hergestellt aus. The Flyer's wires, bracing and engine parts were steel.
