Cardboard box and plumbing: what they have in common

1. Step 1. Cardboard box — is made of — Wood pulp. Corrugated board.
2. Step 2. Wood pulp — is material for — Toilet paper. Cellulose.
3. Step 3. Toilet paper — is used in — Flush toilet. Hygiene.
4. Step 4. Flush toilet — uses — Sewerage. Draining the waste.
5. Step 5. Sewerage — works like — Aqueduct. Both systems carry water by gravity through channels: one drains waste, the other supplies water; the drains of Mohenjo-daro are older than the Roman aqueducts.
6. Step 6. Aqueduct — works like — Plumbing. An aqueduct brings water to a city, plumbing distributes it inside; Minoan pipes are older than the Roman aqueducts.
